Welcome to Joacim's Therapy
Being human isn't always easy and life doesn't always turn out as planned. It is easy to suffer from feelings of loneliness, inadequacy or the feeling that there is something wrong with us. Perhaps worry, anxiety or stress have become part of your everyday life. Just so you know, there is a solution to your problems.
I am here to guide you through your challenges in life and help you understand yourself on a deeper level. As a therapist, I help you, among other things, to increase your knowledge of your feelings, thoughts and behaviors and how these are connected to each other.
After our meetings you will grow as a person, gain more self-awareness, which in turn generates increased quality of life and well-being. My vision is always to create a safe and supportive environment for you.
ACT therapy means focusing on accepting the experiences and situations that life exposes us to, without trying to change them. The goal is to help you as a client find a new approach to tough and difficult feelings, so that you can put your energy into healing and moving on.
With the help of ACT, you can train yourself to focus on the present, to accept situations in life that can cause worry, pain, sadness, anxiety or other discomfort. By working with ACT, you practice increasing your awareness of your thoughts & feelings and how they are connected.
Acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) was developed by the psychologist Steven C. Hayes in the 80s and has become widespread in Sweden in recent years. It is a type of therapy that originates from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is called third wave CBT.
ACT is widely used today in coaching, psychotherapy and personal development, as the purpose of ACT is to live a meaningful life based on the individual's own values. It is a form of therapy that urges us to ask existential questions about what we want with our lives - and to then act in accordance with those values.
ACT is about learning to be here and now,
practicing not to judge yourself for the thoughts and feelings we have, that is perhaps the most important aspect of acceptance. ACT uses language to de-dramatize and instead consider one's own thoughts and feelings as suggestions, rather than truths. So not to believe everything we think.
